There has been a lot of attention on Piesse Lake in recent years, in the Western Australia town of Katanning. Over recent years, a new lake and small ponds have been created. Community busy bees have seen thousands of rushes, shrubs and trees planted. Pathways, bridges and playgrounds have been constructed. The area has become a magnet for people walking and to admire the wildlife.

On a walk this morning, this was a taste of what was there.

Black-winged stilts

Silver Gull

A flock of Silver Gulls was visiting.

Grey Teal

There are always Grey Teal present. This morning there were 70 on the new lake!

Pacific Black Duck

We hope you enjoy taking a walk around Piesse Lake and hopefully you will get to see more of our special feathered visitors.
